Kim Loliya (they/she)
DIRECTOR
#fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/eb
Kim is a Trauma Psychotherapist trained in both African-Centred and Western therapy as well as specialist trauma modalities such as EMDR and Somatic Experiencing that offer embodied, gentle and holistic pathways to repattern trauma. Kim’s practice is culturally attuned and works at the intersection of identities, by combining indigenous wisdom with modern psychology, for the purposes of individual and collective liberation. Kim has experience of delivering clinical work within services, businesses and community settings and, as Director of Black Psychotherapy, they prioritise widening access to mental health support for those with multiple marginalisations. Alongside leading on day to day operations within the service, Kim works with businesses and community organisations to provide decolonial and liberation-centred training to staff, volunteers and service users across the health and social care sector. Kim also works with educational institutions to embed anti-oppressive practice within the curriculum and to ensure it is included at all levels of counselling training. Outside of Kim’s role within the service they research Afrofuturism, speculative practices and ecologies of liberation and they have recently released a podcast exploring intergenerational trauma through a politicised lens.

#fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/eb
Sylvia is a COSRT registered sex and relationships therapist who has immersed herself in the scientific study of human sexuality for over fifteen years. Although she initially pursued studies in counselling and therapeutic approaches, it took the challenges of the pandemic to prompt a career change into psychosexual therapy. In her practice Sylvia supports individuals and couples of all genders, sexualities, and relationship constellations, providing a safe and inclusive space for clients to explore their intimate lives. Sylvia creates a non-judgmental and safe environment for clients to freely express their fears, thoughts, and feelings, enabling them to untangle any external factors that may impact their sexuality and intimacy. Her goal is to provide clients with the necessary support to cultivate the intimate life they desire and deserve, fostering personal growth and fulfilment in their relationships.

Tricia Bernard-Hector (she/her)
THERAPIST
#fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/eb
Tricia offers a safe, supportive space where you can pause, reflect, and work through what’s weighing on your mind and where nothing is off-limits. As a Black Caribbean-British woman, she knows how valuable it is for you to connect with someone who truly understands your experiences—not just from a professional standpoint, but from a lived perspective. For many of us from ethnic and culturally diverse backgrounds, everyday life can bring unique challenges—whether it’s systemic racism, feeling misunderstood, or battling the weight of expectations. Tricia’s work focuses on building empowerment to find a path forward and she supports adults of all ages with issues such as work-related stress, relationship challenges, childhood trauma, anxiety, grief, and major life transitions. Having worked in the corporate sector for 15 years, Tricia uniquely understands the impact of work on mental health, especially for racialised employees. Outside of her practice, Tricia stays grounded by spending time outdoors and, though she grew up in the Caribbean and she loves the sun, she’s come to appreciate the unpredictable charm of British weather, even the rain!

SUPERVISOR
#fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/eb
Ebi is an experienced supervisor who supports trainees and qualified practitioners with a relational, humorous and congruent style. Charité Nkusi (she/her)
THERAPIST
#fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/eb
Charité is a multilingual practitioner who speaks English, French and Kinyarwanda. Along with practicing an integrative approach that is tailored to individual circumstances, Charité believes we are biopsychosocial and spiritual beings who have a whole host of different needs, and that our needs are shaped by our identities such as our age, religion, culture and socioeconomic background. This has influenced Charité's work as an anti-oppressive and culturally sensitive practitioner, offering an honest, respectful, safe and non-judgmental space where it’s possible to reflect on concerns, thoughts, emotions and personal stories. Charité’s specialisms include refugee experiences, bereavement/grief, culture, life transitions, self-esteem and confidence, anxiety, depression, health, work and relationship issues as well as trauma. Outside of work, whenever she can, Charité likes to travel to countries she's never seen before to continue learning about other cultures while also immersing in different types of music and books.
